You can most often find me browsing the delightfully vast magazine section at McNally Jackson in SoHo. Growing up in semi-suburban cities, I struggled to find print editions of the international art, fashion, and literary magazines that intrigued me most. This corner of the bookstore feels like my personal slice of heaven (and my 16-year-old self would have loved it.) -O.A.

Grab the cheapest bottle of red from the off-license shop across the road, then head straight to Persepolis, a Persian deli-cum-cafe on an unassuming corner of Peckham High Street. Alongside our BYO wine, my flatmate and I like to share the four-course tasting menu (it’s cheaper than it sounds), which ends with a fluffy pink and white sundae covered in rose petals. I recommend dining on the loveseat couch in the corner—it’s a good place to rest your weary-but-happy head after eating yourself silly. -S.M.

Playclothes is a heavenly, pink, vintage emporium. I went there on my birthday once and have fond memories of Constellation contributing photographer, Grace Pickering, trying on an excellent, electric blue cowgirl suit during that visit. Clothing is arranged by decade, and the shop has an impressive array of 1950s prom dresses and psychedelic costumes, plus a mixture of furniture and bric-a-brac. It’s not unlikely to spot Elle Fanning trying on a daisy print silk dress in the Victorian style dressing rooms, which look like they’re straight out of Picnic at Hanging Rock. -J.B.
